The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented challenge, and the Alberta Small Brewers Association (ASBA) is committed to helping Alberta brewers during this difficult time.

The latest

On March 18, 2020, the Government of Canada announced a new set of economic measures to help stabilize the economy, including helping businesses keep workers on payroll, flexibility for businesses filing taxes, and ensuring businesses have access to credit. Our role in the crisis and recovery

We are working with all levels of government:

Our Executive Director is a member of the City of Calgary's newly formed Business Sector Support committee to help respond to the needs of small businesses during the crisis.

  • The association is gathering feedback from brewers and making recommendations to the government to help Alberta's craft sector emerge from the economic downturn. We remain in consistent dialogue with provincial authorities.
  • As part of the Canadian Craft Brewers Association, ASBA is working with our provincial counterparts to advocate for additional support for small brewers.

Stay updated

On Thursday, March 19th, at 1:15 pm, we will be hosting a conference call to provide an update on recent adjustments to employment insurance and temporary layoffs as well as solicit feedback to support our brewers during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recovery. All Alberta brewers and industry partners are welcome.
