Keg Loss in Alberta

Stop the Keg-Napping!

Small businesses supporting one another does not stop at purchasing and selling each other's products. Kegs are a valuable resource for small breweries. They are an investment made and then lent out to industry friends. Losing one keg may not be a hardship, losing many kegs becomes one. As we all face similar struggles with rising costs, none of us can afford to continue to let keg losses happen.

What you can do!

  1. Note a timeline for when you will pickup a keg after the restaurant has let you know it is no longer on tap, on your invoice.

  2. Include a phone number on your keg to text when your keg is no longer on tap, so the restaurant has a quick and efficient number to reach you.

  3. Note on your invoice, that if you do not receive a text notification to pick up your keg, if the keg is lost or stolen there will be a charge on their account with you.

  4. Work with a brewery nearby the restaurant to ask if they can pickup and hold your keg if you are unable to pickup in a reasonable or stated timeframe.

  5. Respect that the restaurant doesn’t have unlimited storage and that kegs can’t live there forever!
